REDEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

Phase 1 - Enabling Works - Complete:

MARCH 2024 UPDATE

  • Temporary Car Park - Accommodates displaced parking in the location of the new terminal. The car park will be integrated into the landside expansion associated with the new ATB construction.

  • Apron Expansion - Provides a safe parking area, power in-out for E190 aircraft, and as the first phase towards expanding/infilling apron up to the new ATB.

  • Partial Parallel Taxiway - Enabling the relocation of Cargo building and future apron infill.

Phase 2A - Cargo Building - Complete:

AUGUST 2024 UPDATE

  • Cargo Building Operating as a standalone facility

  • Cargo relocated from old facility to new facility storage bay

  • Signage Installation Complete

  • Furniture Installations Complete

  • Apron Commissioning In Progress
     

JULY 2024 UPDATE

  • Exterior/Interior Finishes Complete

  • HVAC, Plumbing & Electrical Complete

  • Landside Paving, and Security Gate Installation Complete

  • Signage Installation Ongoing

  • Furniture Assembled and Delivered to site
     

JUNE 2024 UPDATE

  • Majority of Exterior Finish installation Complete

  • Majority of Interior Finishes Complete (some minor touch-ups are required, one last coat of paint, floor polishing, and ceiling tiles once the electrical and HVAC is completed)

  • Majority of HVAC and Electrical Installations Complete

  • Exterior Doors, Windows and Shutters Installed
     

MAY 2024 UPDATE

  • Majority of Exterior Primer installation Complete

  • Interior Finishes ongoing – high bay ceiling has been painted, majority of tiles installed, washroom tiling/painting complete (just require fixtures and misc finishes), majority of drywalling complete

  • HVAC and Electrical installations ongoing

  • Landside kerb and sidewalks poured. Next will be ramps and steps

  • Site Services installations ongoing (no pictures here)

  • Enabling works on mahogany road complete (no pictures here unless you’d want them – most of the area is now backfilled)​

APRIL 2024 UPDATE

  • New Cargo Building - All Cargo building roof slabs formed, poured, and cured. Exterior Wall Render Completed

  • New Cargo Apron - Airside and Landside Excavation ongoing (in preparation for apron)

  • New Carpark - Airside and Landside Excavation ongoing (in preparation for new parking lot)

  • New Service Road 

  • Utility Works for the Air Terminal Building - Electrical Rough-Ins Completed

  • New cargo Building

Phase 2B - Air Terminal Building - In-Progress:

MARCH 2025 UPDATE

  • All ground-floor concrete walls completed (poured)

  • Finalized masonry wall installations in the Arrivals baggage reclaim area

  • HVAC installations ongoing throughout Western third/section of the building

  • West side Mechanical & Electrical Rooms blockwork completed

  • Drywall stud and gypsum board installation ongoing in West Office areas

  • Departure hold area roof decking/scaffolding installations ongoing & roof slab pouring ongoing

  • Storm Pipe & Trench Drain Installation Ongoing (Majority of Airside STW scope complete) 

  • Continued WWTP Installation. Blinding poured; foundation steel installed

  • Continued airside and landside lighting installations. Foundations poured; conduits routed
     

FEBRUARY 2025 UPDATE

  • All Floor Slabs completed (poured)

  • All roof slabs and inverted beam poured/completed from GL 8 – 14 (The Western third of the building). 

  • Finalized masonry wall installations in the Arrivals baggage reclaim area, and continuing installations along on the West side of the building

  • HVAC installations ongoing throughout Western third/section of the building

  • Drywall stud installation started

  • Commenced Wastewater Treatment Plant Installation

  • Commenced Airside and Landside lighting installations

  • East side future parking lot caliche placed and compacted
     

JANUARY 2025 UPDATE

  • Contractor remobilized from Christmas Break

  • Eastern Cistern Backfilled and Substructure Works Complete

  • Continue installations of West superstructure walls and roofs.

  • Mezzanine Floor Slab Poured

  • Baggage Reclaim Roof Poured

  • Majority of Phase F-1 Apron works completed

  • Airside STW and outfall installation close to completion (minor works remain)

OCTOBER 2024 UPDATE

  • Majority of Substructure Completed (Only East Cistern and a few step footings remain)

  • All external Eastern Stormwater Cistern Wall Poured, once internal walls are poured, and external walls are cured we will begin the top slab (final steps of the substructure)

  • Continued installations of West superstructure walls, started forming SW structure roof slabs

  • Apron works Continued – 50% PCC apron pour completed

  • Begun airside STW and outfall installations during night shift (completion expected in coming weeks)
     

SEPTEMBER 2024 UPDATE

  • Majority of Substructure Completed

  • Majority of external Eastern Stormwater Cistern Wall Poured (1 Pour Remaining)

  • Commenced installations of West superstructure walls

  • Existing Cargo Facility Demolished

  • Apron works ongoing – first PCC apron pour completed, and majority of stormwater infrastructure installed on landside area
     

AUGUST 2024 UPDATE

  • Western Potable Water Cistern Poured

  • Eastern Stormwater Cistern Slab Wall reinforcing steel completed, wall form installation ongoing

  • Foundations/Column/Shear Keys Completed. Substructure Walls Ongoing

  • Phase 1B Airside Works ongoing – excavations complete, lean concrete base pouring ongoing.
     

JULY 2024 UPDATE

  • Half of Western Cistern Walls Poured

  • Eastern Cistern Slab Wall reinforcing steel installation close to completion

  • Foundations/Column/Shear Keys installations ongoing

  • Phase 1B Airside Works ongoing – excavations complete
     

JUNE 2024 UPDATE

  • Western Cistern Slab poured, and strength confirmed. Steel installation for walls ongoing

  • Eastern Cistern Slab poured

  • Foundations/Column/Shear Keys installations ongoing

  • Site fencing erected next to existing cargo building, to allow for Stormwater/Trench Drain Installations
     

MAY 2024 UPDATE

  • Gates/Fences fully installed (site is now fully enclosed).

  • Western Cistern excavated, blinding poured and steel installation ongoing.

  • Majority of Eastern Cistern Excavation Complete

  • Foundations/Column excavations ongoing

  • Aecon site fully mobilized.

APRIL 2024 UPDATE

  • New Air Terminal Building

    • Ground-breaking Ceremony & Beginning of Site Mobilization

    • Delivery of project material and equipment

    • Tree Relocations and Clearing of site vegetation and topsoil.

    • Construction of site fencing, pedestrian walkways, and parking lot improvements

  • Apron Expansion 

  • New Airside Access Road

  • New Landside Parking Lot, Airport Roads, and Pedestrian Plaza
